Taking on an elementary form, the Hula lamp brings a simple bi-dimensional object into a 3-D, physical existence. The movable lampshade glides on the lamp bulb orienting the light beams. Its light-hearted name is inspired by the similarity in shape and movement to that of Polynesians hula dancers.
The employment of a heavy bulb socket paired with the light sheet of aluminium for the lampshade ensures that the structure maintains its centre of gravity and preserves its geometry despite rotation.
